I. Introduction
A. Daniel ... book of prophecy and people
1. An outline of the ages.
2. Glimpses of the end times.
a. The triumphal entry. B.
The cross ... the destruction of Jerusalem. C.
The Antichrist ... the trouble ... the leaders of recent times.
3. But it is a book people.
a. Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. D.
Tribulations and triumphs of men of faith.

B. Three men who were tested by fire
1. The great statue.
2. Bow down or be burned.
3. They refused to bow ... but not burned.
.
II. Meditation
A. Were different (see 12)
1. Respected neither the king nor his gods, or his golden statue.
2. Our Lord was different.
a. It was just in a sinful world. B.
It was light in a world of darkness. C.
His teachings were demanding a different lifestyle.
3. We must be different, changed by the power of the gospel.
a. Born again new creatures. B.
Changed the Corinthians (1 Cor 6:9-11). C.
Paul changed (Phil. 3:7-10).

B. Were fearless (v. 16)
1. "There is no need to answer you."
2. The excitement of the new Christianity.
a. Take on new positions. B.
Risk position, work, friends. C.
Fresh zeal to win souls.
3. Then we become cautious.
a. So cautious than ever witness. B.
As tolerant of sin that we compromise with the world. C.
As conservatives who do not speak of Christ.
4. Walking by faith is bold.

C. Were set apart, consecrated and dedicated. (Vv. 17, 18)
1. God is able to deliver.
2. But if we do not pound, still be faithful.
3. Your maybe you're angry with God. He has not spoken.
a. He did not save your marriage. B.
Not heal your loved one. C.
Not prevent you lost your mortgage. D.
Never work has provided yet. E.
You have not yet saved your children.
4. But you see your total consecration.
5. They are like Job: "Though he slay me, in him" (Job 13:15).
6. They are like Jesus in Gethsemane.

III. Conclusion
A. Were delivered (vv. 25-27)
1. And what a liberation!
a. Jesus walked with them into the fire. B.
Only the strings were burnt. C.
The smell of fire are not hit. D.
Not even a hair singed.
2. Why?? [Because they were already burning!
B. Wanted: men and women full of zeal!
