WHAT GOD WANTS TO DO IN YOUR LIFE
Philippians 1:6

I. Introduction
A. What do you do with your life?
1. Most hopes and dreams.
2. Some have plans and schemes.
3. Others have selfish desires and others yearn to help others.

B. What God wants to do in your life?
1. A more important question.
2. One that has both temporal and eternal dimensions.
3. What is the answer to this question?
.
II. Meditation
A. God wants to do a work in your life
l. "He who began in you."
m. This is surprising, but true.
n. God wants to work in the lives of sinners.
o. This is admirable grace us ready to act.
2. This is the opposite of what we naturally want.
a. We reach for the stars. B.
We want to achieve financial success. C.
We climb as high.
3. God wants to descend to the lowest.
a. Meet and transform the sinner. B.
Seal the person and make your precious possession.
4. God invites you to become your child by faith (John 1:12).
5. He now wants to start rebuilding his work in you.

B. God wants to start a good work in your life
1. "He who began a good work in you."
2. The work of God in us does not look good at first.
a. Start making us aware of our sins (Rom. 3:10-23). B.
Soon we learn that our best works are without merit (Isaiah 64:6). C.
We realize that all they have earned is death (Romans 6:23).
3. The grace of God brings us hope.
a. God loves us, Christ died for us. B.
Let's conviction for conversion.
4. Faith in Christ brings us \\ many good things: a.
Forgiveness of sins. B.
Justification. C.
Assurance of heaven. D.
The Holy Spirit who dwells in us. E.
A purpose for living: the glory of God.

C. God wants to make a permanent work in your life
1. "The completion until the day of Jesus Christ."
2. Paul was "Certain" that this good work would remain.
3. Summarizing the work of God in believers.
a. God begins his work (v. 6). B.
He continues his work (2:13). C.
God completes his work (3:20-21).
4. Eternal life is truly eternal life (1 Jn. 5:13).
