ABANDONED EL SALVADOR
Psalm 22:1-8

I. Spurgeon said
ACH Introduction the beginning of this psalm
1. "This is very clearly the psalm of the cross"
2. "It is a photograph of the darkest hours of our Lord"
3. "By His grace we can approach and enjoy this magnificent sight"
B. David hears the last word of this sentence spoken on the cross
1. "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" (Ps. 22:1, Mt 27:46, Mr 15:34)
a. This word from the cross was foretold before Jesus said
b. "To which extreme distress was brought to our Lord" (c. H. Spurgeon)
2. "God forsaken por Dios, ¿quién puede entenderlo?" (Martín Lutero)

II. Meditación
A. Cristo fue abandonado para que nosotros nunca lo seamos
1. Este es un clamor a su Padre fiel
a. "Dios mío, Dios mío"
b. Nuestro Padre anhela oír nuestro clamor durante los días sombríos
2. Este es un clamor que pregunta: "¿Por qué?"
a. Todos pasamos por tiempos de cuestionamiento
b. Jesús entiende nuestros tiempos de cuestionamiento
3. Hay ocasiones en que nos preguntamos si Dios realmente se interesa por nosotros
a. ¿Te preguntas tu si Dios se interesa por ti?
b. Our Lord knows how you feel your
4. We can be sure that He will never forsake us (Heb. 13:5)

B. Christ suffered only for us to never be alone
1.
"Why have you forsaken me?"
a. Christ took the place of sinners, separated from God
b. He took all the punishment that sinners deserve, even dropping
2. This was prophesied cry from the darkness of Calvary (Matt. 27:45)
a. How frightening to be alone in the dark! B.
Our Savior, lonely and suffering endured the darkness that we deserve
3. Compare this their promises to the dark days
a. "Do not leave you orphans ..." (John 14:18) b.
"... here I am with you alway" (Matthew 28:20)

C. Christ suffered the shame that we might be redeemed
1. "... I am a worm ... a reproach of men, and despised by the people" (Ps. 22:6)
2. "All who see me mock me ..." (v. 7)
3. The humiliation of Christ assured our salvation (Philippians 2:5-8)
a. He lost his reputation for our redemption
b. He died on the cross so that we could have eternal life

III. Conclusion
A. How will you respond to your love like?
